McCarthy & Rebh Wedding At National Museum Of Women In The Arts

Looking back at 2020 wedding season, one of the best memory was the wedding of Emily and Mike at NMWA. We had the honor of celebrating their wedding day, which falls on a leap day!  Their ceremony location is in St. Mathews Cathedral in Dc, the church is very majestic with old architecture which represented Dc beautifully. This is a great place for them to exchange their vows as they begin their marriage life together.  Their reception venue is at The National Museum of Women in the Arts which is a premier venue in the DC area with its gorgeous marble and lighting chandeliers that make the space feels grand without being too over the top, not to mention the staff here are wonderful and very attentive to the guests.  When we first spoke about the flowers, Emily wanted to have flowers in white and blue color only, which is their main color for the wedding.  I suggested that we add a hint of blush into the mix to give it more layers, texture and color harmony and she and her mom agreed. I love it when the bride is open to suggestions, this will make my job easier as a floral designer since I tend to think how I can elevate the and make the flowers design look and feels more luxurious while incorporating all the elements that my client would want for their wedding day. I choose three different types of garden roses Moonstone, Geraldine and O’hara as the main flowers, combined with fragrance stocks, crisp white Tulips and light blue Delphinium for the bridal party bouquets.  While at the flowers market I stumbled on the most beautiful bunches of creamy ranunculus that I thought would make Emily’s bouquet complete, which it did, her bouquet came out so beautiful, it’s feminine and flowing while still looking very classic and chic.  The reception space we chose 3 different floral designs for the tables, this way it will keep the space interesting with different elements. We had wreath centerpieces, high floating stem candles centerpieces and the classic compote centerpieces. The flowers combination combined with the perfect plate setting of gold and navy blue really make the tables cape stand out.  The ladies at Cherry Blossom events really know to put the event together perfectly and help the guests fully enjoy themselves. The cater was Spilled Milk events and they work right along side with our staff to make sure everything came together beautifully. The photographer Alicia at Alicia Lacey Photography was there to capture all the perfect moments for our couple as their celebrate one of the biggest day of their lives.  We felt very honor to be a part of this special wedding day and we wish nothing but years of happiness to come for our couple, congratulation Mr & Mrs. McCarthy!
